hi, im mashedpopoto.

photographer, gamer, weeb

why did you start a blog?

If you're here, then you probably came from one of my anime figure related social media posts. If this piqued your curiousity and you're looking for more, then you've come to the right place!

The reason why I started this website was because I wanted a space to express my thoughts on certain hobbies and topics. I'm not sure if you've noticed, but it's actually somewhat difficult to go into more detail on sites like Reddit or Instagram - whether this be because of character limitations or pressure to seek engagement.

"Now imagine yourself living in a space that contains only things that spark joy. Isn't this the lifestyle you dream of?"

Most people prefer the short story rather than the long! But you wouldn't be here if that was you, would you? ;)

alright, what's in it for me?

I'm glad you asked.

If you're so inclined, I'll be sharing with you my creative process and reviews for various things (but mostly anime figures). I'm hoping that you can gain some value or learn something new from my content.

Bar that, you get to look at pretty pictures which is also pretty nice.

tell me about yourself.

Sure. I started collecting anime figures at the beginning of 2018. While browsing Reddit, I stumbled upon a figure of Utaha-senpai from Saekano - her 1/7th scale by Good Smile Company to be specific.

There was something about this specific anime figure that grabbed me immediately, and I knew that I had to have her. Thankfully, she was still available on AmiAmi and I took the plunge!

Over 100 figures later, I have zero regrets as collecting is a great source of joy for me!

Oh, and I also spend way too much time playing video games and watching anime, but you probably knew that already.

what is a "mashedpopoto?"

I'm glad you asked. In Final Fantasy XIV (Square Enix's critically acclaimed MMO), there is a race called the Lalafell.

"lalafell are friends, not food!"

- a lalafell, moments before being eaten
Their diminutive stature and chubby proportions give them a striking resemblance to a popoto (or what we call on the planet known as Earth, a potato). As you may expect, these little guys are victim to various horticultural pursuits and are lusted by culinarians/monsters around the world.

How do you like your popotoes? I personally like them mashed.
